For those coming from the Wetlands please keep in mind that campaigning in one of these tournaments cane bring you in trouble. Not for participating but due to the fact that the type of spurs used, require the natural spurs to be cut of. This under the new animal welfare act is forbidden and has a max penalty of a jail sentence. I don’t remember exactly haw long, as soon as I find the exact penalty I will place this on this forum.

Be care full !

Hello Samba,   You are right!  In most of the European countries, laws are made by urban people for the protection of the animals.   There are only exceptions made for the powerfull lobby of poultry industry.  That is why it is allowed

#1 to cut off 1/3 of the beak of a chicken

#2 to cut off the first part of the back toe and of the front toe when the chickens are designed for breeding at 3 days old at most.

#3 to cut off the growth point of the spurs when 3 days old at most

#4 to cut off half of the wing when 3 days old.

When I read this 2001 law, I thought to myself that our game ****s were lucky because we really love them.

About the spurs,  I do not advise you to cut them off.  First  oriental birds' spurs grow  slowly. Some of them never wear spurs.  But when the spurs are growing, you can keep them short in using sand paper.  So you are not forced to cut them off if your bird participates in our ****boxing meeting.

Hi Philippe,

You are dead  right, people passing on these laws don't know any thing about animals ore country live. But this does not prevent them passing on law after law.

The poultry industry does indeed have a powerfull lobby, thats why these laws are not bothering them but be advised that NON of these things are allowed for a hobby breeder in the Wetlands. Keeping the spures down from the beginning on sounds like a good Idee.
But than again, here in our pits they are mostly fought with short sharp spurs.

Again I don't want any one to not participate but they should at least know what may be comming to them.

YIS SAMBA

Hello Samba, when you tell "the wetlands", does it mean UK?  I understand it is not easy to go back with a bird from a pit to UK.

Phil,

Were do you think the wetlands are ???
Shall I include a map so everyone can come and visit !
It really doesn't matter were it is, as long as those coming from there know and will think about what I wrote. It could keep them from getting in deeper than the would like !
And it is in general, it might be oke in the north of France but there are different thinks which can make it difficult when caught back home. This is the main issue and we should all think about this !

Keep hearing different reviews about your meeting’s.
From the few names I see on the forum there aren’t many real ****ers responding, how come ?
I keep seeing Mr. WvB and his side kick Mario. Would like to hear from others who have been there.
As soon as I can I will come over and have a look see for my selfAs always, Samba !
